Melissa Salvatore - Photographer - Co Founder

Melissa graduated from the University of Arizona, cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts, concentration in Photography and Business Minor. She received a Fulbright Scholarship in 2005 for her work committed to teaching photography as a form of communication to students who are deaf. Her Fulbright took place in Dublin, Ireland where she directed the project for 9 months. 

Her book titled. "Sounds Like", can be found in the special collections archive at the Center for Creative Photography.  Her commitment to studio photography started in 2004 and brought her to opening the Upper East Side Manhattan location of Classic Kids NYC. Her work has been featured in publications such as Modern Luxury Chicago & NY, NY Family, and KIWI Magazine. 

In 2011, alongside her husband, she branded and opened Heritage Bicycles in Chicago. In 2013, Melissa opened A Little Photo Studio in Chicago where she runs a photography studio, event space and print house.

Garrett Baumer - Photographer - Retoucher - Digital Tech - Co Founder

Garrett received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography from the University of Louisville in 2006 and his Master of Fine Arts in photography from Columbia College Chicago in 2012. With Garrett’s 15 years of professional photography and retouching experience, co-founding Field Creatives with Melissa Salvatore became an avenue to offer the various skill sets the team has to commercial clients.

As part of his art making practice, Garrett became the artist in residence in digital arts/photography at the Lillstreet Art Center in Chicago in 2012. His body of work, Restricted Access, has been featured in an issue of PDN’s Emerging Photographer and Photograph Magazine did a feature on Garrett’s studio practice in 2016. His work was on display in a solo exhibition at The Union League Club of Chicago and in a recent traveling exhibition titled Space curated by Paula Tognarelli from The Griffin Museum of Photography. Garrett is a member of The Chicago Project at the Catherine Edelman Gallery and part of the Midwest Photographers Project at the Museum of Contemporary Photography.
